Well-being and Habits

The "Well-being" tab is a gentle place that brings together your daily life and the connection it has with the balance of your inner world, all on a single page. Habits like sleep, sunlight, steps, and respiratory rate are recorded automatically and gently from your Apple Watch and iPhone, and little by little, you begin to see how they nestle alongside your Balance score.

Feelmo is not an app that tries to "guess your emotions." Its role is simply to gently watch over the balance of your autonomic nervous system. So please look at the numbers on this page not as a diagnosis, but as everyday hints.

What you can see in this tab

The Well-being tab is made up, broadly speaking, of the following elements. There's no need to take it all in at once. Start wherever catches your eye, and look slowly.

  • A word for the day … At the very top, a short line that gently sums up the day you've picked on the Madoka dial
  • Today's habits … Mini-cards lining up that day's values for sunlight, steps, and respiratory rate (tap each to open its detailed screen)
  • Sleep … A card summing up that night's sleep (tap to open the sleep detail)
  • Autonomic trajectory … Reflects the day's autonomic state through three gentle axes — recovery, activation, and variability
  • Vital signs … The latest values for sleep, resting heart rate, wrist temperature, respiratory rate, blood oxygen (SpO₂), and more, shown as that day's signs. These are only a rough guide to your daily condition, not diagnostic values
  • Water & caffeine … Quietly log the water and caffeine you took that day, with a tap
  • A way back to past days (the Madoka dial) … Go back in time to revisit the habits and signs of any day (up to yesterday is free; going back further than that is Premium)

Habits recorded automatically

Most of the habits lined up in the tab are recorded quietly by your devices, without you having to do anything at all. Just wear your Apple Watch and go about your day as usual.

  • Sleep — That night's sleep duration and your heart-rate data during sleep. The fluctuation of your heart rate at night is at the heart of your Balance score (Sleep and HRV)
  • Sunlight — A rough measure of the time you spent outdoors in the light during the day
  • Steps — The number of steps and activity for that day
  • Respiratory rate — A rough measure of your breathing rate, such as during sleep

How to read these habit records

These aren't there to grade you on "did it / didn't do it." A soft color simply lights up for today's habits — that's all it is, a gentle record. Even if you have days that stay empty, there's no need to blame yourself.

Sleep details and Sunlight details

For sleep and sunlight, there's more than just that day's sign — a screen with a little more detail is waiting for you, too.

  • Sleep details … See how long you slept that night and what your heart rate looked like during sleep. The near-term views (week and month) are free, and the full year-long view opens with Feelmo Premium
  • Sunlight details … See how the light you bathed in during the day has accumulated. Today and this week are free; looking back at days before yesterday is Premium (there are no monthly or yearly summary views)

When you tap a locked view

Tapping a Premium part — the year-long view, or a look back further than yesterday, and so on — will gently open the Feelmo Premium guide (Paywall). The near-term views will always remain available to you, free of charge.

Behavior tags — leaving a mark on the day's habits

In addition to the things recorded automatically, you can leave tags for the day's habits — from "Today's behavior" on the Mood Log tab, with a single tap. Jotting them down becomes a clue that later helps you find the "habits that are working" for you.

  • Ready-made tags … Caffeine, Alcohol, Bathing, Exercise
  • My habits … You can add habits all your own (stretching, sauna, and so on)

Just a tap. There's no need to write at length like a diary. When you happen to remember, leave one gently — that's enough. If you'd like to know how activity and exercise connect to your balance and recovery, see Exercise, Recovery & Readiness.

Habit cards — what is it that balances you

As tags and records build up, habit cards begin to grow little by little on the Trends tab and in your Kokoro Report. What these show is not the average of someone else, but the data of you as you usually are.

  • Habits that are working … From your own data over the last 30 days, this shows how your next morning's Balance score differed between days with the habit and days without it. Only habits with at least 3 days on each side are shown — while there isn't yet enough, it won't force out an answer
  • Habits this past week … A week of dots, where a soft color lights up on the days you managed it

This is "correlation," not "causation"

What the habit cards show are relationships within your data. Even if "the morning after a bath tends to be higher" appears, that is a clue, not a proof. Your daily Balance score sways with countless things — sleep, weather, your schedule, and more. Glance at it lightly, and if you feel like trying something, try it — that's enough.

When you'd like to look more rigorously at "does this habit really work for you," there is also the habit-impact analysis, Which habits help you, in the Kokoro Report's "This week's insight," which compares it (Premium).

Layering over your Mood Log

In the two views — calendar and graph — of the Mood Log tab, you can look back on your mood records alongside your Balance score and behavior tags on the same timeline. Every span — week, month, and year — is free to look back on, and the records you leave are always yours. Find the "rhythm of balance" that's all your own.

This is not a medical diagnosis

Feelmo is not a medical device and is not meant for diagnosis or treatment decisions. What the vital signs and habit cards display are tendencies estimated from the state of your autonomic nervous system, not medical diagnoses. If you have symptoms that concern you, please always consult a medical professional.
